Two men were arrested for stealing a couch out of the lobby of a Catholic Charities building for low income residents the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 14, according to an Albany police spokesperson.
The men, Derrick Johnson, 46, and Calvin Parker, 47, were charged with burglary in the second degree and petit larceny.

The DePaul Residence, 504 Central Ave., was burglarized by Johnson and Parker on February 8 at approximately 2:55 a.m. The thieves entered the 50-unit complex by using a swipe card obtained from a friend. They then proceeded to steal a gold-colored couch from the lobby.

The two were identified as suspects through their use of the swipe card. They were picked up by detectives and transported to the Detective Division for questioning, soon admitting to the burglary.
Johnson and Parker were arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to Albany County Jail while the couch was returned to Catholic Charities.
