Women’s soccer:

This past weekend, the College of Saint Rose women’s soccer team was given the #1 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament. The Golden Knights are in the women’s championship bracket this autumn, which has 56 teams total, for the eighteenth time in 21 competitive years. Sunday at Sullivan Field, the women’s soccer team defeated Adelphi 4-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The victory gives the Golden Knights their fourth straight NE10 championship and their 11th league title overall. The Klammer sisters both recorded one goal, and shortly after Mia Klammer tacked another one on the board. Junior Ryleigh Hopeck also finished with one goal and one assist on the day. With its fourth straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship, Saint Rose guaranteed itself a spot in the NCAA tournament. With their 4-1 victory over Adelphi on Sunday, the Golden Knights won their 11th league championship, which is a record for the NE10 in history.

Men’s Basketball:

Over the weekend The Men’s Basketball team hosted the Tip-Off Tournament here in Albany, The Golden Knights scored a total of 85 points in the win over the University of Wilmington, the rookie pair for Saint Rose, Christian Pierre-Louis and Jabari Phillip Jr totaled 21 and 18 points on the night. Pierre-Louis led the Golden Knights in rebounds with nine at the end of the game and went 8 of 9 from the field. Six boards were also pulled down by Phillip Jr. The Golden Knights won 85-73. The next day, Saint Rose fell to Post University after a hard fought battle. The Golden Knights were led by junior forward Tristian Jeffries, who scored 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Adam Silas, a sophomore guard, contributed 16 points and a game-high five assists to the defeat.  The Eagles then went on to score 14 of the next 21 points in the second quarter, establishing a double-digit advantage that they maintained for the majority of the latter half. For the Golden Knights, junior forward Ata Turgut and rookie forward Jabari Phillip Jr. each pulled down five rebounds, and Phillip Jr. added two blocks. Dante Weise, a rookie guard, played aggressive defense and had two steals. The Golden Knights men’s team will return to play in a NE10 conference matchup at Pace University on Saturday Nov. 18.
