Two of Saint Rose’s very own bands put on entertaining performances on both Friday and Saturday night at the most unusual venues.

The band CPS, performed in the Albany Indoor Rock Gym, which is a gym complex located on Vatrano Road off Westgate Plaza, complete with a huge rock climbing wall and many interesting programs for people of all ages to enjoy.

CPS was the first show and event to take place. Its band members included Anthony Campbell and Declan Fields, who are both music majors graduating from the College of Saint Rose this year.

During the event, everyone was rock climbing and enjoying themselves as the band’s music played. Additionally, people were able to go in and out through a tunnel system in which you could have various people watching the show from different holes and angles around the complex. It was definitely an experience.

Anthony Campbell topped off their performance with him strapping himself up to a harness and attempting to play as he floated through the air. As you can imagine, it was difficult for him to play on the harness but he did try.

CPS’s show was a good one overall and was very entertaining. With brilliant stage presence and amazing tunes, this is a band that you don’t want to miss out on.

Vanna and the Vonbons performed also played an amazing show on Saturday night at the Greenhouse, which is located at 420 Hudson Ave.

The band is made up of another four talented Saint Rose students, with lead vocalist Vanna, lead guitarist Toni, Cain Mack who plays rhythm guitar, and Logan Pollak as their drummer.

With a wide variety of amazing bands playing that night, Vanna and the Vonbons stood out with amazing tracks.

Both CPS and Vanna and the Vonbons will be playing at the Battle of the Bands show on March 8, at 275 River Street, Troy, N.Y..
