The class of 2020 and their families gathered the morning of Saturday, April 15, in the gymnasium of The College of Saint Rose to meet their prospective professors, tour the school, speak with financial aid, and meet their future classmates.
This event attracts prospective students from all over New York as well as other states. About 300 students attended this event, but only about one-third of these students have already decided to attend the school.
“This event is a great opportunity to see if Saint Rose is the school the students are looking for. Students get to meet alumni who give them their honest opinion on the school and share their experiences,” said Robert Hogan, associate director of transfer affairs.
With around 290 students attending and May 1 being the last day to decide to attend, it was the largest accepted student’s day out of the two previously held.
“We recommend students come to this event to meet their future classmates,” said Katie Lesko, assistant vice president of enrollment management. “Going to college away from home can be a scary experience, so this is a time where they could meet other students who are in their shoes.”
Students attending the event heard a speech from the President of the College and two alumni. The accepted student days are free to attend and there is a complimentary breakfast.
“I felt at home the second I walked on to the campus. I am so excited to continue my education in Graphic Design in such an awesome program,” said Megan Divirgilio, class of 2020. “This event has confirmed my belief that Saint Rose is a great place to be. The professors and faculty here are wonderful. Go Knights!”
