Volleyball:

Women’s volleyball fell to Mercy College in a non conference matchup in three straight sets on Nov. 1. Sophomore Teresa Moulder led the team with eight kills while sophomore Alandra Hasbrouck recorded two service aces. The Golden Knights were back in action against Bentley University in Massachusetts. Even with taking a 3-0 deficit, sophomore Teresa Moulder registered 12 kills with a .346 swinging average to lead all players in the match. Senior Jessica Vargas totaled six kills with middle blockers Julia Cavalcanti and Karleigh Fripp both tallying three kills a piece. The Golden Knights women’s volleyball team is returning to action on Nov. 10 against Franklin Pierce University for their Senior Night. 

Men’s Soccer 

The Golden Knights men’s soccer team played on Oct. 31 against Saint Michael’s University. The Golden Knights secured their spot in the NE10 conference playoffs with a 2-0 victory in Vermont. Graduate Jose Clemente and senior Hilmar Halldorsson both scored goals to win the match. Not only did they secure their spot in conference play, they were given home field advantage. On Oct. 4, the men’s team competed in quarterfinals against Saint Anselm, and the match remained scoreless up until the first minute of overtime. The visiting Hawks forward scored the one and only goal. The men’s soccer team ended their season at home with a record of 6-7-4. Congratulations to the team on a long and hard fought season, and congratulations to all the seniors!

Women’s Soccer:

The women’s soccer team is undefeated in their regular season, 16-0 and 1. The Golden Knights final regular season game was against Adelphi University. Graduate Elina Seppala scored two goals along with an assist to help push the Golden Knights to victory. Adelphi had tied up the game when freshman Brielle Zink scored a goal to retaliate against Adelphi’s game tying goal. The Golden Knights women’s soccer team has now reached 35 consecutive regular season games without a loss.

No. 1 Saint Rose hosted Southern Connecticut State University in the NE10 quarterfinals. The Golden Knights scored the three and only goals within the first 45 minutes of play. Junior Mia Klammer scored two goals in 14 minutes to start the push to victory. In the match’s 43rd minute, Graduate Caitlin Wania scored the final goal of the night with help from Senior Caylee Boorse. Mia Klammer led the game in goals but she also ranks first in the nation with 46 total points on the season. The Women’s soccer team is back at Sullivan Field on Nov. 9 against No. 4 seed Franklin Pierce.
