The College of Saint Rose Men’s Soccer Team had a game at the Christian Plumeri Sports Complex in Albany, on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. on Wednesda. At the end of the first half, the score was 2-0 in favor of the Golden Knights. The final score was 4-0 with Saint Rose taking the win.

The half came off to a rough start for the Golden Knights, with a total of nine fouls for Men’s Soccer at the end of the first half. The team tried to pick up the momentum previously before the play with two failed shots by Niv Fogel and Oskar Aastroem, but the failed shot was saved by Ian Shannon.

Midfielder starter Oskar Aastroem scored the first two goals of the game with an assist from freshman starter Hilmar Halldorsson. Halldorsson and the men who started the game celebrated the first goal of the game in front of the Saint Rose home stands with their friends, fans, and families in the stands. Sophomore Simari Smith also had a goal in his name during the second half.

The Men’s Soccer team is attempting an effort to raise money for Childhood Cancer Research and displayed their pride by wearing their yellow socks on Thursday’s game on the field as a way to show their support for the cause.
