Golden Knights Rundown 12/13

The women’s basketball team won against Saint Anselm on Nov. 30 in a close game 59-58. Catherine Finnerty led the game with 16 points and the winning free throw was shot by Kaileigh Hunt. The women faced Roberts Wesleyan on Dec. 3 and won with a final score of 65-57. Isabel Sanchez was a top scorer with 18 points throughout the game. On Dec. 6, the women fell to Southern New Hampshire with a score of 58-75. Ryley Blasetti and Isabel Sanchez both scored 14 points each leading the game. 

The men’s basketball team played against Saint Anselm on Nov. 30 and were defeated with a score of 59-66. Eric Fleming had 13 points overall, leading the team. On Dec. 3, the men were defeated against Le Moyne with a final score of 58-79. Josh McGettigan led the game with 14 points along with two steals. The men’s team faced Goldey Beacom on Dec. 8 and won with a score of 84-67. The team played again on Dec. 10 against Southern Connecticut State University and lost with a score of 72-96.

The women’s and men’s swimming and diving teams traveled to Staten Island to The College of Staten Island’s Invitational midseason meet on Dec. 2 and 3. The women placed first overall alongside the men finishing second. Mia Stroub had two individual wins in the 100 butterfly and 200 backstroke, leading the Golden Knights. On the men’s side, James Henriques and Nathan Greene led the team with two wins each. Henriques won the 50 and 100 freestyle and Greene won the 500 and 1000 freestyle. 

The women’s and men’s track and field competed at St. Lawrence for a Saints Holiday Relays Meet on Dec. 3. The men placed fifth and the women placed sixth overall. Reece Casinelli won the men’s 500 meter dash. On the women’s side, Sara Fitzgerald finished first in the 500 meter dash, and Adrianna Cieslak won the pole vault recording 2.30 meters. The team traveled to Boston for the Beacon Invitational on Dec. 10. Podium finishes were achieved at the meet including Andre Woods finishing third in the 60 meter dash.
