Golden Knights Rundown 11/15/22

The men’s soccer team played against Saint Michael’s on Oct. 25. The Golden Knights won with a score of 2-1 lead by Lucas Malmquist and Harry Soederlind scoring the goals of the game. On Oct. 29, the men played Southern New Hampshire in the NE10 Championship and tied with a final score of 1-1. The men lost in overtime against Notre Dame in the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 10.

The women’s volleyball team played Southern Connecticut State University on Oct. 25 and were defeated with a score of 2-3. The women played again on Oct. 28 against Bentley and lost 0-3. Valeria Jorge, Elizabeth Johnson, and Jessica Vargas were honored during their senior night game. The Golden Knights lost with a score of 1-3 against Franklin Pierce on Nov. 4. The women played again on the 5th against Southern New Hampshire and were defeated with a score of 0-3.

The women’s soccer team defeated Adelphi on Oct. 26 with a final score of 5-1. The women won against Southern New Hampshire on Oct. 30 with a score of 3-0. On Nov. 3, the women won against Saint Anselm with a score of 5-1. The team played against Adelphi again, winning 4-0 on Nov. 6. The women won the NE10 Championship and moved on to the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 11, winning the first game against Jefferson with a score of 3-0.

The women and men’s swimming and diving teams competed in their first home meet against Bentley on Oct. 30. The women finished with a score of 81-115, and the men finished with 85-120. The Golden Knights faced Pace and both teams were defeated. James Henriques and Gabbie Lupe won the 50 and 100 freestyles at the meet leading the teams. The teams swam again on Nov. 6 in a tri-meet against RPI and Oneonta. The teams lost, but had great swims from Nathan Greene in the 400 Individual Medley and 500 freestyle.

The women’s and men’s cross country teams competed in their NE10 Conference Championship on Nov. 6. Both teams placed 12th. Matthew Waruch and Elizabeth Mattair earned Top 50 finishes at the meet.

The women’s basketball team played UAlbany on Nov. 7 and the ladies were defeated with a final score of 43-59. The women were defeated in a game against Goldey- Beacom College with a score of 73-82. The Golden Knights played against Wilmington on Nov. 12 and won with a score of 84-40. Kaileigh Hunt and Catherine Finnerty both scored 16 points.

The men’s basketball team played against UAlbany and lost in a close game 66-73. Matt Constant led the game with 25 points on Nov 2. The men played against Bloomfield on Nov. 12 and won with a score of 84-73.
