The women’s soccer team was on home last Tuesday to take on the Adelphi Panthers and they won 2-1. The two goals both came in the first half and were scored 11 minutes apart from each other. Getting Saint Rose on the board first was senior Julianne Johnston and later it was freshman Kaelyn Britt who put one in the back of the net.

The team is now 10-3-2 and have three games left on the season, first it’s a two game road trip which will see them play the Molloy Cougars and then the Pace Setters before they return home on Oct. 27 for their regular season finale against the Southern New Hampshire Penmen.

The men’s soccer team also had a match against Adelphi last week on Wednesday but they were shutout 2-0. The Panthers scored both of their goals late in the second half to defeat the Golden Knights.

They then traveled on Saturday to take on the Southern New Hampshire Penmen but lost a close one 1-0. The Penmen’s lone goal came with six minutes left to go in the game. The two losses sets the team back to 7-6-1 and will be on the road again today to take on the Southern Connecticut State Owls.

The women’s volleyball team had a two game homestand last Friday and Saturday. First up was a match against the Merrimack Warriors which Saint Rose swept them three sets to nothing, (25-13, 25-23, 25-15). The win extended their win streak to three. The Golden Knights’ serving game was on point, with 11 aces on the night. Leading the offense on the night was senior Shayna Webber with 12 kills.

They looked to make it four in a row in game two of the homestand against the Assumption Greyhounds and they did just that, winning three sets to one, (25-20, 25-10, 22-25, 25-18). Webber once again led the team, this time with 16 kills while teammate Stevie Schweitzer was one behind with 15 kills.

With five games left to go on the season, the team is 15-8 and will embark on a three game road trip beginning today in Springfield, Massachusetts against the American International Yellow Jackets.

Heading to the pool for men’s and women’s swimming and diving, both teams were back in Oneonta, New York, this time for the Hartwick Quad Meet against the host Hartwick Hawks, the Utica College Pioneers, and the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers. Both teams finished with the same result, winning against Utica and SUNY Cobleskill but losing to the Hawks.

Leading the men’s team were junior Roko Jelavic and freshman Aleksandar Stosik who each finished with three race wins. Jelavic finished first in the 1,000 yard freestyle as well as the 100 and 200 yard breaststrokes. Stosik won the 100 yard backstroke, and the 50 and 100 yard freestyles.

The women’s team was led by sophomore Colleen Quaglia who won two races which were the 100 and 200 yard backstrokes. Both teams will be back in action on Nov. 3 when they take on the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons.

Finally in men’s and women’s cross country, both teams were competing in the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup on Saturday. Junior Christine Myers won the women’s 5K race with a time of 18:34.2 which was her fourth win this season. The next closest Golden Knight to finish was junior Lauren Rabideau who finished in 33rd with a time of 20:04.7.

On the men’s side, their top finisher was junior Evan Ireland who finished the 8K in 27:15.2, good enough for 45th place. Behind him was junior Nicholas Lee who finished in 57th with a time of 27:43.5.

Both teams will now begin preparations of the NE-10 Championships which will be held on Nov. 4 in Rindge, New Hampshire.
