Ariana Grande and Her Mother Defend Little Mix, Slam Piers Morgan On Twitter

After the release of their music video for their latest single, “Strip,” Little Mix has caught the attention of British TV presenter Piers Morgan…and unfortunately, he had a lot to say about it.

Morgan said that the group stole the idea from the Dixie Chicks’ similar 2003 photoshoot. He also mentioned that one member, Jesy Nelson, looked ridiculous and that she should put some clothes on.

The music video features members of the group with negative things said about them written on their bare bodies. Little Mix said the song encourages fans to ignore negative comments on social media.

Morgan’s comments didn’t go over well with Ariana Grande’s mother, Joan. She tweeted, “Honestly what is wrong with you @piersmorgan? Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it! You came for @TheEllenShow yesterday which was disgraceful, she is an angel. @LittleMix today, did you ever hear of paying homage? And..well never mind.”

And of course, it always seems as if Piers Morgan needs to get the last word in. This isn’t his first public feud, either. As Joan had mentioned, he had criticized Ellen DeGeneres the day prior for her International Men’s Day video montage she featured on her show.

“Hi Joan, my mother taught me to speak my mind & never be afraid to express honestly held opinion. Ellen’s a hypocrite – and as for Little Mix, I’d just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity. As your own daughter does…!” he tweeted back, sparking a feud.

Joan’s daughter, 25-year-old pop star Ariana Grande, wasn’t going to let that one slide.

“Ellen is an incredible & kind human being.. I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice. & we will keep fighting til people understand. i say this w all due respect but thank u, next,” she tweeted Morgan.

US Television’s latest superstar, Piers Morgan, appeared on the Mall today being filmed by a CNN filmcrew. Excited tourists and Royal-watchers started taking photographs of him, until he asked the police to clear all members of the public from his camera shot.

It didn’t end there either. Grande made sure Morgan knew he was in the wrong. “I look forward to the day you realise there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticise young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it.”

And if that wasn’t enough to get a man who loves to just spark feuds on Twitter to be quiet, she tweeted a near nude photo of Morgan that was used in a Burger King advertisement, saying “when u do it it’s ok tho right?”

While it was clear that Grande had won this time around, Morgan needed to get the last couple of words in. “Of course, women can do what they like – but if they/you use nudity to sell records to impressionable young female fans, I’ll continue to call them/you out on it,” he tweeted back.

While this isn’t a review and rather a report, I have one statement to say to Piers Morgan: You’re simply making yourself look ridiculous and your lack of thorough reasoning proves that you were just looking to start an argument. Like Grande had said on Twitter, thank you, next.
