The highly anticipated solo movie of Scarlett Johnson’s “Black Widow” character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s trailer was released to the public on Dec. 2, 2019. Fans of all ages have desired a solo movie of the popular female avenger for years, and the demand for a solo movie has been high since the character’s death in “Avengers: Endgame.”

According to Wikipedia, the female heroine appears in several comics within the Marvelverse. Also according to the same online article that is written by Wikipedia Editors, Natasha Romanoff is the first female character to take on the alias of Black Widow.

It was also stated that in an online CNN that the Marvel Production company said that at the 2019 Comic Con convention that Black Widow would get her own solo movie. It was also stated by film producers that the film would be dropped by May 2020, as stated in the same article that was published on CNN. According to the same article, it is worth noting that Black Widow has only appeared seven times in Marvel movies since she was introduced in the first Avengers film.

Black Widow is an alias of a Russian-born female spy that is portrayed by female heroine Natasha Romanoff, according to several Wikipedia articles. She is first introduced in the Marvelverse as a Russian spy before she was hired as an Avenger later in the comics.

Within the trailer itself, exciting guest appearances in 2020 were also released of other Marvel characters will appear in the “Black Widow” film as well. According to the same CNN article that was written by Madeline Holcombe of CNN, these characters are in the following list: Yelena Belova (portrayed by Florence Pugh), Rachel Weiz (portrayed by Melina Vostokoff), and David Harbour of “Stranger Things” as the famous Red Guardian.

The ensemble for the “Black Widow” film alone shows that Marvel is attempting to make a big name for Romanoff in 2020, as an attempt to hype the film up to gain viewers from other fandoms.

The cast alone is a reason to go make plans to see the film, and raises the bar on expectations for the viewership for the film as well.

The trailer itself does an excellent job setting up the premise of the intensity level of the character of Black Widow. The trailer offers different scenes of Black Widow and the film seems as if it will explore different relationships with people in her life. Romanoff’s sister will make an appearance in the film as well. It starts off with rather dark, sinister music with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow starring into a mirror opening with dialogue.

The quote that opens the trailer is Johansson as Widow stating, “I used to have nothing,” with cut scenes to important aspects of her past life before her role as an Avenger. “Then I got this job, this family. But nothing lasts forever.” That line does not even hit the two minute mark of the trailer, and as a devoted Marvel fan myself, gave me chills down my spine.

The way that Johansson delivered the line in the trailer is enough to get fans to buy tickets. Black Widow seems to offer an action packed film, and according to www.imdb.com, the film takes place pre End Game. IMDB claims that the film will take place in between “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”

The interesting aspect of the “Black Widow” trailer is that it has a female majority cast. The ensemble list in itself is rather impressive and is something that I personally am rather looking forward to watching as well. The timbre of the trailer’s soundtrack offered insight that the film is going to be long and intense, but informative.

The ensemble and Scarlett Johnasson alone are reasons enough to go make plans to see “Black Widow,” the Marvel movie of the new year.
