Softball: 

On April 18, Saint Rose softball traveled to Post University to compete in a double header. The Golden Knights came up victorious in both games with 27 runs on 28 hits. Kelsey Higgins and Alexandra Deeter went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Marin Frazee got three hits and a walk in four plate appearances in the 10-2 win in game one. Deeter logged a team-high four RBI, which included a two-run home run in game one. Frazee had two RBI and Mattison Muller drove in three runs as well for the Golden Knights in the opener. In game two, Ellen Fuda went 4-for-5 at the plate with a homerun, 5 RBIs and four runs scored. Also in game two, Maddy Bland recorded a two run homerun and Deeter followed suit in the sixth inning hitting a grand slam. 

On April 20, hosted a double header against Saint Anselm. Saint Rose fell in the first game 2-0. In game two Katelyn Baker went 2-for-2, recording two RBIs. Bland also had two hits in game two. Hannah Breen finished the second game with only one run in seven innings. 

On April 21, Saint Rose hosted Southern New Hampshire at home for another double header. The Penmen swept the Golden Knights in the series. Ciana Phillips managed to get on base in all three plate appearances. Phillips went 2-for-2 with a walk and recorded a run scored. Higgins’ first-inning RBI single drove home Phillips, putting Saint Rose up 1-0, but SNHU scored four runs in the third inning. After trailing 4-1, Ellen Fuda scored Abby Behrikis with a single in the sixth inning. Madison Chandler led the Golden Knights with two hits and two walks. Chandler blasted her first home run of the spring, a solo drive in the third inning, giving the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead. Trailing by one, the Penmen tied the game with one out in the top of the seventh, forcing extra innings. In the ninth inning, Peyton Feldman doubled with two outs and two runs to give SNHU the lead for good.

On April 25, Saint Rose Softball traveled to Bentley University for another double header. Maddy Bland registered a home run in game one and Ciana Phillips recorded a two run homer. In game two, the Golden Knights scored hits from Kelsey Higgins, Madison Chandler, and Abby Behrikis. Marissa Correra scored as part of Phillips’ homerun.

On April 27, The Saint Rose Softball team hosted Assumption in a double header for their Senior Day. Hannah Breen threw all seven innings in Game One, striking out five Greyhound hitters.

Madison Chandler went 3-for-4 with a run scored on a Kelsey Higgins sacrifice fly in game one for the Golden Knights. Chandler also went a perfect 3-for-3 in Game 2. Deeter went 2-for-4 in game one, hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth for her fourth big ball of the season. Adian Sheeran threw the first 3.1 innings for Saint Rose in game two, allowing only two runs and striking out two Assumption batters. Maddie Puppolo, came on in relief and pitched the last 3.2 innings, allowing no runs and striking out three Greyhounds. Saint Rose ends its last season 19-19 overall and 8-14 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Baseball:

On April 20th, The Men’s baseball team hosted Saint Michaels in a double header. In the first inning of game one, the Golden Knights converted a triple play when Nathan Tom caught a fly ball, took first base and made a perfect play to shortstop Kenyon Motley at second base to complete the inning. Saint Rose was tied at six apiece after James Ward’s RBI single in the ninth inning, forcing extra innings. Ward went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in the second game.The Golden Knights’ first game included catcher Ryan Deo, who reached base three times, drove in two runs, and scored. Saint Rose changed the script in game two, winning 17-6 in seven innings thanks to an offensive battle at the plate. In five of their first six innings at bat, with the top four batters in the Saint Rose order all reaching base four or more times and accounting for 14 of the team’s 17 runs. Vince Venditti led the Golden Knights, reaching base all five times, going 3-for-3 with two walks. He scored on all five occasions he reached base. In game two, Toms and Gendron both had three RBIs and three runs scored. Andrew Donglewic secured his second victory of the year. Mike Gage held the Purple Knights hitless in the final three frames, striking out five to claim the multi-inning save. The Golden Knights fell 6-12 in the first game and defeated the Purple Knights in game two 17-6. 

On April 21, The Golden Knights hosted Franklin Pierce at home. Franklin Pierce defeated the College of Saint Rose baseball team 20-10 in a non-conference game against Franklin Pierce. James Ward and Liam Blesi both homered for the Golden Knights, with Ward hitting a single shot in the sixth and Blesi hitting a three-run homer in the eighth. Ward was 3-for-3 at the plate, with two RBI. Jaison Mock matched Ward with two RBIs, while Josh Foglia and Chase Carroll each had one. Carroll, Ward, and Kenyon Motley each scored two runs in the loss. 

On April 25, Baseball hosted Dominican College for non-conference play. Mike Benedetto, had a career-high six RBI and scored two runs. Benedetto was one home run shy of completing the cycle and also stole a base. Toms had a perfect day at the plate for Saint Rose, going 4-for-4 with three doubles and one walk. Toms scored four times and had one RBI. Jack Griffin and second baseman Ethan Farina both blasted two-run home runs to help the Golden Knights win. James Ward and designated hitter Louis Gendron both got two hits for the day. Carroll secured the win for Saint Rose by pitching a scoreless sixth inning. Stephen Orlando earned his second save of the season after closing out the ninth inning.

On April 27, The team traveled to Pace University for a double header. Chase Tucker started on the mound for the first five innings and earned his third victory of the season. Marcus Botelho recorded his first season save in the ninth inning. The Golden Knights took an early lead in game one thanks to a solo drive by Ward in the first inning. Venditti followed with a two-run homer in the third inning. The Golden Knights trailed 7-4 after five innings, but Ethan Farina scored on a balk in the top of the sixth and then crushed an eight-run grand slam to seal the win. Mike Benedetto went 3-for-5 in Game 1. Shortstop Kenyon Motley had two hits and scored twice. 

Women’s Lacrosse

On April 22, The Women’s lacrosse team hosted Assumption University. The Golden Knights rallied from an early deficit to level the game at 6-6, but Assumption scored eight of the next nine goals to seal the victory. Daria Bock scored four goals, while Katy McPeak netted three for Saint Rose.

Bock ended with two assists, while Lauren Pendergast got one. Dorothy Gaffney made thirteen saves. 

On April 24, Saint Rose faced Southern New Hampshire at home. Katy McPeak scored three goals, while Kylee Payne and Daria Bock each had two goals. Carly Neville also scored a goal for Saint Rose. Lauren Pendergast produced five assists and Julia Lasher had one to enhance the Golden Knights’ offense.

On April 27, The Golden Knights traveled to Saint Michaels for a NE10 Conference matchup and their last road game of the season. McPeak and Bock each scored four goals for the Golden Knights. Bock contributed an assist for a game-high five points. The Golden Knights were defeated 21-8.

The Golden Knights trailed 8-5 late in the second period, but Bock’s goal with 26 seconds left ignited a run of three straight Saint Rose goals, tying the game with 4:54 remaining in the third.

Saint Michael’s would counter with three straight strikes, bringing the deficit back to 11-8. Payne scored from a restart in the fourth quarter for Saint Rose, and Lauren Pendergast scored at the buzzer to cap off an afternoon that included two assists.  Saint Rose fell to the Purple Knights 10-11.

Men’s Lacrosse

Saint Rose Men’s lacrosse traveled to Assumption University on April 17. Noah Gibson and Cam Smith each scored three goals for the Golden Knights, while Jack Rice recorded two.

Alex Johanson, Greg Walsh, and Aiden Blouin all had single strikes. Rice led the Golden Knights with two assists. Johanson and Elijah Martin both registered one helper.

Gibson, Blouin, Smith, and Walsh scored 11 consecutive minutes in the first period to put the Golden Knights up 4-0. Assumption scored five of the next six goals, tying the game at 5-5 at halftime. The Greyhounds dominated the second period, outshooting the Golden Knights 19-2.

Rice and Smith scored the first two goals in the third for Saint Rose, but Assumption would get ahead with a 8-1 rally in the final quarter. The Golden Knights lost 15-11 in the conference matchup. 

On April 20, Saint Rose hosted Saint Michael’s at home. Gibson and Smith each scored two goals to lead Saint Rose. Paul Wright and Natham Ham both scored once to help the Golden Knights’ offense. Ryan Gainor made 17 saves in the setback. Saint Michael’s led 56-28 for shots on goal. After Gibson put Saint Rose on the board first, the Purple Knights scored nine of the next eleven goals to pull away the win.

On April 23, Saint Rose Lacrosse had their last game in Saint Rose History. Smith scored four goals while Gibson scored three for Saint Rose. Smith scored 52 goals in the spring, breaking his program’s single-season goal-scoring record. Emmett Brady and Jack Rice each scored once, while Elijah Gibson and Greg Walsh each had two assists. The Golden Knights were behind 3-0 before Brady, Gibson, Rice, and Smith scored consecutively to put Saint Rose ahead by one. Bentley tied things up with 14 seconds left in the half, but Gibson and Saint Rose found time to score with four ticks left in the period for a 5-4 lead at the intermission. Gibson scored the first goal of the second half, which was followed by back-to-back goals from Smith to extend Saint Rose’s lead to 8-4 in the third. After Bentley replied with a pair, Smith converted Martin’s pass to put the Golden Knights ahead 9-6, sparking Bentley’s late rally. The Falcons scored eight goals in the last 12:57, The Golden Knights finished the spring with an overall record of 7-10.
