Wednesday was the Saint Rose Men’s Soccer Team’s first annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness game. Although the men lost to Molloy College 2-1 in the second overtime, the Love Your Melon Campus Crew found great success with their night.

“It’s to raise awareness for pediatric cancer, but at the same time let people know about the club that we just started on campus,” said Ashley Parker, one of the Campus Crew leaders.

Parker had e-mailed Coach Ciano and asked if he would like to collaborate with the group on an awareness night. She originally had the idea of the men wearing gold laces, but they wore that color on their socks instead.

Love Your Melon hopes to collaborate with other sports organizations to host similar nights over the rest of this academic school year.
