For Saint Rose musicians, summer is a time for touring. Driving for hours and playing in a variety of venues from nightclubs to halls to basements, these bands have dedicated these warm summer months to playing their music for as many people who will listen.

For pop-punk outfit Caleb Lionheart, that included a two-week east coast tour down to Florida and back up to Albany with stops in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and more along the way.

Although recently getting a new drummer, they still went through with the tour, which ended early due to booking complications and vehicle dillemas.

Now back in Albany, they have a number of shows planned in the area, including many at the house where some of the band members live and has earned the name The Lions Den.

Fans can catch them July 22 along with bands The Day was Mine and A Hero Next Door at Red Square at 7 PM.

Rose Rock favorites Aficionado are also actively playing shows. While they are not formally on tour, they boast a full schedule of bookings throughout the Northeast including seven shows in July alone.

They are hot off the release of this spring's Circus Music, their latest full-length album that was produced, recorded, and mixed by members of the band.

Their next show this summer is July 1 at Savannah's on Pearl Street in Albany along with A Voice Like Rhetoric, Speakerfire, Vessels, and Whiskey & the Devil. The show is $5 and begins at 8 p.m.

Although they will not be performing in Albany again until September as part of their Sound and Shape Tour, they are playing in many New York cities, including Kingston, NY on July 24th and in New York City on August 4th.

Punk band the Peeps are also keeping busy this summer, touring with friends and band The Asthmatics. They are first traveling west through Pennsylvania and Ohio, and then heading down the east coast for a tour lasting a little over two weeks.

Due to their bassist Byron living in New York City, the Peeps do not play in Albany very often, and this summer is no exception. However, they are playing in their hometown of Newburgh, NY on July 14th and nearby at The Basement in Kingston on August 1st.
