Art literally covered the walls of the Events and Athletic center on Saturday, April 19th. It also was hung from the ceiling, and laid on the ground. Senior art majors of all concentrations showed their work off at the Senior Art Show. The gallery has been open from the Saturday's evening reception and will remain open until Wednesday, tonight, with most of the sculpture pieces in the Atrium and the rest of the gallery in the Standish Dining room upstairs.

The reception was held not only for seniors, but their friends, family and anybody who was interested in seeing the art created by upperclassmen in The College of Saint Rose's Art Department. Professors were there to congratulate students, including art department chair, Karene Faul and Professor Jeanne Flanagan.

Those who attended the event were happy to have the event on campus.

"I think it's really nice to see all the art majors' work because they are down at Picotte Hall all the time. I look forward to seeing this at the Massry Center next semester," said senior Kate Sgroi.

Seniors were also happy to have their work on campus. Art department events such as the visiting writers talks and gallery events on campus continue to show how much of the campus community will come to see the artwork of their peers when they have easy access to the work.

"I am extremely happy with the turn out. I really didn't expect the gallery to be so crowded. I'm also glad that it was on campus," said Thom Piejko, an Art Education major, who has a concentration in painting, "As art students, we're kind of forgotten about due to the fact that so much of our time is spent in Picotte and Bru. Friends who are not art majors never really get to see what we work so hard on. I feel that having this show on campus allowed for everyone to fully appreciate the amount of work and devotion that goes into creating art."
