Saint Rose has high expectations for Metros
The Saint Rose swimming and diving team look strong and gain momentum going into the Metro Championships

For the women, freshman Rosalie Palmer won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:18.01. She was also part of the winning women's 200 free relay team, which also consisted of seniors Sharon Bogdanski, and Laurie Pero, and junior Morgan Schutz. The lady Knights won the race with a time of 1:47.80.
For the Saint Rose men, junior Brandon Birchak helped to lead the team by winning both of his diving events. Birchak received 275.35 points in the one meter event, and recorded 279.00 points at three meters. Also for the men's team, sophomore John Senkewich took first place in the 50 free with a time of 23.04. Senkewich was also part of the winning 200-free relay team, which also consisted of junior Mike Buyes, sophomore Sean Ahern, and freshman Craig Diaz-Albertini.
The men's team came into the meet with a 8-0 record for the season, while the women were 3-5 for the season. The women finished the meet with a record of 4-6 by defeating Queens College, but losing to Southern Connecticut. The men also were able to defeat Queens, but suffered their first defeat from Southern Connecticut. They finished their regular season 9-1.
The Knights had a two week break before this past weekend, when they traveled to Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ for the Metropolitan Conference Championships. The meet ran from Friday, February 16 through Sunday, February 18.
