The wait is finally over, Spotify Wrapped 2021 is here. Spotify Wrapped has been an ongoing trend since it’s first variation in 2015 called “Year in Music.”
In addition to the normal experience of viewing your top artists, genres, songs, and podcasts plus the minutes you’ve listened to, Spotify has gone out of its way to personalize your playlist even more. These features include 2021: The Movie, Your Audio Aura, Playing Cards, and 2021 Wrapped Blend.
Spotify’s 2021: The Movie pairs your top songs with classic scenes from a movie that, as the title claims, is all about you. For example, you could potentially get common tropes, such as an opening credits song, or one where you “proclaim your love in the rain.” The possibilities are endless so be sure to keep an eye out for your personal movie theme.
Since many people during this time have gotten into spirituality, involving the use of crystals as seen on Tiktok, Spotify decided to use this as a feature. Spotify has claimed that the Audio Aura feature was created with a real aura expert. It’s said that it can “visualize your audio aura based in your top two music moods.” With this, you get a customized color swatch and a short description on what your main music vibe is. For example, you might get “confident and bold” which translates into a half orange half blue shade if you listen to a lot of popular, hip-hop-rap music. On the other hand, if you preferred more indie, folk-pop music, you have the chance of getting different shades a blue and the title of “wistful and cozy.”
