New information has been released about the Saint Rose student who has been missing since Wednesday Oct. 15, 2014.
“Video now shows Connor Trapatsos was last seen in Glenmont in the area of the Price Chopper walking south on Route 9W at about noon on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.” said Deputy Chief Aran Mull, with the state University at Albany Police Department
The 17-year-old Saint Rose student who has been missing for seven days could need medical attention because temperatures have dipped into the 30s over the last several nights.
At a press conference Monday at The College of Saint Rose, officials released video footage from cameras in Connor Trapatsos’ dormitory showing the mathematics major walking out of Brubacher Hall wearing shorts and a sweatshirt as he left campus last Wednesday.
Video footage also showed that Trapatsos boarded a CDTA bus near his dorm and headed west to Crossgates Commons on Washington Avenue Extension last week. At the shopping area, Trapatsos stopped and exchanged paper currency for coins before he boarded a second bus at 11 a.m. Police have no further information on his whereabouts.
Trapatsos, who has no history of mental illness, left behind anxiety medication, a wallet, cell phone and identification, including his Saint Rose ID card, according to Mull. Trapatsos is from Fairport in Monroe County, a suburb of Rochester.
“Conor left campus to change his location,” said Mull, who noted that Trapatsos was an introvert . “Connor is likely safe but finding a place to be alone.”
Trapatsos’ family told police it was normal for Conor to spend time alone and that it was not out of character for him to be withdrawn.
Police said Trapatsos probably wanted to get some space and that no foul play is suspected. Mull told the media that: “Your parents, your sister – are worried about you” and the family asked police to tell their child to “call us and let us know you’re safe.”
The UAlbany Police Department is heading up the investigation because Trapatsos lived in a Saint Rose dormitory owned by the state University. Mull told reporters at the press conference Monday that officials just want Trapatsos to notify someone he is OK.
In addition to the University Police, the FBI, the Albany Sheriff’s Department, Fairport and Rochester Police Departments, Saint Rose Security, the Crime Analysis Center, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Missing Person Clearing House are all involved in the investigation.
Trapatsos’s roommate, Tiernan Foley, first noticed that Trapatsos did not return to their room late Wednesday evening. Foley also said Trapatsos had stopped attending classes.
“I didn’t view it as a concern and didn’t tell my RA until Friday morning,” Foley said. Once the roommate told officials at Saint Rose, a thorough search was conducted in both Brubacher Hall and throughout campus, according to Ben Marvin, a college spokesman. In the week before he left campus, Foley said ” I do not even think I saw him go to the dining hall.”
All of Trapatsos’ belongings have been removed from his dormitory as well, according to Foley.

Since then all of the wooded areas by Saint Rose and Albany High School were also searched by law enforcement, but no evidence of Trapatsos was found.
Saturday evening, the campus community gathered for a prayer service for Trapatsos and his family. “At times like these, our Saint Rose value of community, that intangible feeling of caring and support that permeates Saint Rose life, is what makes our College special. Please keep Connor and his family in your thoughts,” said an email from Dennis McDonald, vice president of Student Affairs .
Trapatsos is wearing a white T-shirt, a black hooded sweatshirt with the words “Pilot 21” on the back, blue shorts, blue Nike running shoes and carrying a dark- colored backpack.
