Spectrum Alana student union will present an authentic take on MTV’s hit show Wild N’ Out. This popular show depicts two teams of cast members doing improv comedy towards each other. For this event two groups of students masquerading as two improve troupes will be launching jokes at each other to give students the chance to laugh and enjoy themselves before finals start.

This event is taking place 7 p.m. on Friday Nov. 16 in Saint Joseph’s Hall. This event is free for students and the public. The event will run from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. and then the after party begins at 9:30 p.m. If students want to be a participate on one of the teams the sign ups are open until Nov. 11. This deadline may be extended to Nov. 13 depending on how many people sign up. The after party is free to anyone. Attendance for the show is not required to attend the after party. The doors for the after party won’t close until 10 p.m.

“I hope that this event can make everyone laugh and release some stress before finals,” said Alexis Melvin, president of Spectrum Alana. Melvin encourages people of all demographics to come out and enjoy the event. This event will take place annually instead of twice each school year. The location change of the event allows this to be one of their biggest events. They decided to not charge for entry because they wanted it to be as accessible as possible so that anyone who wanted to come is able to.

The goal is to have everyone enjoying themselves and be able to laugh at the improv comedy between both teams. “I hope everybody comes out it’s a night you won’t want to miss,” said Tariq Wiggins, captain of the red team. Wiggins has participated in this event since he was a freshmen at the college. He expects a big turnout due to the change of venue. As a participant he wants to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone. He looks forward to hearing all the laughs from the audience.

The after party will consist of DJ Complete and a dance floor. Attendees are invited to dance, listen to the music and have a good time. Spectrum’s version of Wild N’ Out is similar to the MTV version due to the fact that the E-board selects games that mimic the MTV show. These activities are funny and showcase the comedic skills of all the participants on each team.

Spectrum wants all attendees to feel like they were sitting in the audience at a real Wild N’ Out show. They chose a DJ that will interact with the crowd and be able to get them off their feet. Considering that this event has taken place many times over the years they believe they have insight on what spectators want to see.
“Overall my E-board and I have worked hard to ensure that this campus sees a little humor and relaxation during this time, especially with midterms on the brain, said Emani Tucker, Vice President of Spectrum Alana. “I just hope everyone enjoys themselves.”
