Being close to home is only one reason Student Association Director of Academic Activities Danielle Serrano chose Saint Rose; the other being an “open, small, [and] united” community, making her choice of Saint Rose a good one. The appeal of Student Association was: “It involved more than one club and still connects with other clubs,” said Serrano. She has always been a Student Association member.

With encouragement and reassurance from her Mom and the previous Student Association board members, Serrano joined the SA board and now oversees all of the academic clubs making sure they follow SA guidelines. “I really want more people involved in academic clubs. Some are pushed away because of the academics,” but they should just give it a try.

Serrano’s favorite memory was St. Baldrick’s Day. “The campus came together as a whole,” and it was the first event she organized herself on campus. “I love knowing all of the events” that are happening on campus.

Serrano loves to go home and see her family. She tries to go home as much as possible. She also loves spending as much time with her friends as possible.

Serrano has simple advice for everyone: “Don’t be afraid to get involved! Opportunities are endless. Take advantage of whatever you can.”
