One year ago, Saint Rose’s student-run record label, Rose Record Label Group, was preparing its first big event scheduled for Valentine’s Day weekend: the public launch of the label. The 2015 event was a huge success. Hundreds of people showed up, including the President of The College of Saint Rose, Carolyn Stefanco, as well as professors from the College and members of the community.
This year, Rose Record Label Group is proving they haven’t fallen behind. With new artists signed this year and more artists being considered for the future, Rose Record Label Group is soaring.
This February, Rose Record Label Group is throwing another party, this time to release their new compilation album, “Rose Roots, Vol. I.”
This album will feature singles from all of the label’s current artists as well as songs from legacy artists. The free Compilation Release Party will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 in the Hearst Center for Communications and Interactive Media. The doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m. Semi-formal attire is suggested, but not required.
There will be live performances from each of Rose Record Label Group’s artists, a play-through of the new album, and a music video premiere. The artists will also be performing with some of Rose Record Label Group’s songwriters, who have been working hard since the fall semester on new songs for the artists.
There will also be raffles, and Rose Record Label Group t-shirts and the compilation album will be available for sale. This event will also have free hors d’oeuvres.
The entire record label is very excited to host this event and is hoping that it will be an even bigger success than last year’s launch, now that the label has had some time to get off the ground. Rose Record Label Group President Stacia Burns said, “Everyone in Rose Record Label Group has been working diligently to create a compilation of tracks that all listeners will enjoy. We are so excited to finally share this album at our release party!”
