Police Investigate Two Shootings

Albany police are investigation two separate shootings that occurred in the city last week.
The first incident happened on Wednesday, just before 5 p.m., in the 100 block of Central Avenue in front of a CVS store.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim with gunshot wounds. The 39-year-old Albany man was treated at the scene and then taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The second shooting occurred in the 600 block of Second Street on Thursday.
Police were notified by staff from Albany Memorial Hospital around 10 p.m. that a male had checked into the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Officers spoke with the victim and learned that he was parked in his car on Second Street when an unknown suspect approached the vehicle and shot him.
The victim, a 23-year-old Albany resident, was later transferred to Albany Medical Center for further evaluation. He’s currently admitted at the hospital and is listed in critical condition.
