Fear Fest is coming to campus

On Friday Oct. 28 from 3-5 p.m. join Saint Rose in the Daniel P. Nolan gym for a pep rally! The college’s dance teams and cheerleaders will be performing, and there will be plenty of interactive games for attendees like musical chairs, a half-court shooting contest, limbo, and more.

House of Screams in Wellworth

Enter if you dare… Res Life and Late Knight invite everyone to the House of Screams Oct. 28. The Haunted House will run groups through the Campus Green and into Wellworth Hall every 10-15 minutes from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Walk-in groups are welcome, but slots are limited and are filling up fast. Sign-ups are open now.

Calling all film buffs

There is a brand-new Film Appreciation club for the fall semester. If you are interested in film theory, history, acting, storytelling or filmography, this may be the club for you! They are also strongly encouraging students who want to pursue a career in film to join them as well. Email freemant692@strose.edu or follow their Instagram @strosefilmclub for more details, or come to a meeting on Fridays from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Albertus 101.

Journal of Undergrad Research

Have an academic paper you’re really, really proud of? The Saint Rose Journal of Undergraduate Research has been revived! They will be accepting academic research papers from as far back as fall 2020. You must have been enrolled at Saint Rose and had written the paper for a Saint Rose class to send in submissions, and the deadline is Nov. 1. Submissions can be sent through the link in this week’s In The Know, and any questions can be directed to shaversr@strose.edu.

New theater club on campus

Are you interested in the ins and outs of theater production? The new theater club on campus is recruiting new members. If you want to be a part of campus performances whether you’re behind the scenes or in the spotlight email tozierr191@strose.edu or chowi960@strose.edu for more information on the club.

Murder Mystery Masquerade

Late Knight presents: Murder Mystery Dinner Theater! Thursday Oct. 27 at 6:15 p.m. Come dressed in your best masquerade costume (although costumes are not required, they are encouraged!) and enjoy a night of mystery. Reserve your tickets through In The Know, as they will guarantee your dinner, mocktail and a seat for the show.

Find New Friends in Sanctuary

Come de-stress and meet other students at Finding New Friends, a weekly activity where you’ll be invited to prioritize calmness and joy. Activities will include baking, arts and crafts, games, and whatever else you want to do to cultivate good vibes for the week. Finding New Friends meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Donate blood this Halloween

A Halloween blood drive is coming up! If you’re a blood donor, consider donating Monday Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Saint Joe’s Auditorium. Why let a vampire take your blood when it could go to a better cause?

Upcoming vaccine clinics

The college will be hosting a flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine clinic on campus on November 2 in Saint Joseph Hall Auditorium. Students can also register to get their vaccines through a local pharmacy if they missed the previous clinic or cannot attend any that are upcoming. Stay safe Golden Knights!
