With the semester coming to an end, students at Saint Rose are working hard to pass their courses. Students are looking for outlets such as writing and music to help relieve them of stress. Saint Rose’s Public Relations and Advertising Club will be holding their second annual Glowfest in Saint Joseph’s Hall from 7:30 p.m. to midnight on April 20.

The event will cost $5 for Saint Rose students and the community. There will be games, raffle, prizes and food provided by clubs at the college. Bad Mothers and Brian J will be headlining the show alongside DJ Shaggy, Mark Manning, Miss This, Hasty Page, The Basis, Christine Bile and ¡Ha!
The audience can expect great original music from the Glowfest headliners.

“Bad Mothers will be awesome this year at Glowfest since they have new music. I can’t wait to hear some of the songs from the EP live,” said Lizzy Mather, a junior at Saint Rose. “Brain Jay, even though I only saw him perform once at Rose Rock, is really talented. I can’t wait to hear some of his songs at Glowfest this year.”

This is will be the second time Bad Mothers will headline at Glowfest and they are “stoked” to perform again. The band will perform some songs from their EP, “Why Bother,” which debuted on March 31. The band plans to be just as energetic as last year, all while bringing new and old music to the audience.

“Getting to be a part of a festival in support of SA and the Saint Rose music scene. It’s nice to be on a bill with our peers and playing at the school for people who don’t get across Madison Avenue often enough to check out some of the music out of CCIM,” said Matt Dalton, the lead singer of Bad Mothers.

“I hope to see Glowfest become a tradition at Saint Rose. I’m so happy to have Brian J and Bad Mothers as our headliners,” said Arianna Memoli, president of the Public Relations and Advertising Club. “The club enjoyed putting on the event last year so much we decided to do it again.”

Opposite the Bad Mothers, Brian J will be bringing his A- game to Glowfest as he prepares to headline for the event for the first time. His latest album, “Late Night Sessions,” debuted on Valentine’s Day. The album was recorded late at night when he was struggling to fall asleep or when he had spare time. Music has helped him relieve some of the stress that comes with working full-time as a case worker.

Brian J’s set list consists of songs from his newest album and a previous album, “It’s Only Right.” He plans to surprise the audience with a premiere of a new song.

“I’m so excited that we have the opportunity to host the second annual Glowfest!” said Memoli. “I think what made Glowfest so successful was that it brought so many students together to enjoy the eclectic variety of Saint Rose’s home-grown talent.”
